Healthcare Over the Holiday Season
Our practice will be closed from 12pm on Tuesday 24th December, reopening Wednesday 8th January at 8.30am.
If you need support over the holiday season you access care in the following ways: Phone our clinic 24/7 to speak with a registered nurse for advice. Virtual GP appointments are available using CareHQ (7am - 9pm, 7 days per week). As a benefit of belonging to our practice, CareHQ appts are subsidised over the holiday season, when booked via the MyIndici portal. See link for details. In-person review via an Accident + Medical Centre - follow this link for options and opening hours.

The increase in fees reflects the rising costs associated with providing our services, coupled with government funding that has lagged behind inflation over a series of years.
Healthcare for children under 14 years of age remains free of charge, and low fees for Community Service Card Holders continue unchanged.
We understand that fee increases can place financial pressure on many of our patients and their families, and we would encourage you to reach out to our Practice Administrator via admin@mtedenvillagedoctors.co.nz if you have difficulty accessing healthcare for financial reasons. We are committed to providing accessible, high quality healthcare, to all of our patients.
Primary care is central to New Zealand's healthcare system, and evidence shows that investment in General Practice produces significant cost savings at the secondary care (hospital) level. We hope to see increased government funding for primary care in future which will allow healthcare to be more affordable for patients and benefit the overall healthcare system. Our Primary Healthcare Organisation, ProCare, has produced a templated letter (found here) that patients can use if they wish to petition the Health Minister and local MP for increased funding for primary care.
